AP source: Bills in talks with veteran QB Brian Hoyer

A person with direct knowledge of the situation tells The Associated Press that the Buffalo Bills are in discussions with the representative of pending free agent quarterback Brian Hoyer. The person says the talks began Wednesday, when NFL teams have an open window to contact pending free agents a day before the NFL’s signing period begins.

Perez: Democrats are in ‘crisis of confidence’

Democrats on Saturday neared the end of a long, competitive battle to choose a new national party chairman who will attempt to turn widespread opposition to President Donald Trump into more election victories. One of the leading candidates, former Labor Secretary Tom Perez, told Democratic National Committee members the party is facing a “crisis of confidence” and a “crisis of relevance” after losing about 1,000 elected posts from Capitol Hill to state legislatures during the last decade, in addition to Hillary Clinton’s presidential election loss.

The race for a new Democratic chairman narrowed to two candidates, a former Cabinet member and a liberal Minnesota congressman, both of them promising to rebuild a reeling party and fight Republican President Donald Trump. Tom Perez, labour secretary under former President Barack Obama, told Democratic National Committee members the party is facing a “crisis of confidence” and a “crisis of relevance” after losing about 1,000 elected posts from Capitol Hill to state legislatures during the last decade, in addition to Hillary Clinton’s presidential election loss in November.

The Timing on Tyrod

Free Agency of course begins on March 9, but teams are able to contact players that are about to become FA’s two days before that, on March 7. That makes me wonder if the Bills, in selecting March 11 as their do-or-die date, wanted to be able to scour the FA QB market, get in touch with guys they might prefer to Tyrod, and see if they can reach deals with them BEFORE either firming up their ties to TT or cutting him loose. That would be a smart way to proceed.

Fournette-Cook debate reminiscent of Lynch vs. A.P.

In an NFL draft that is loaded at the running back position, it’s no certainty that NFL clubs will all have the LSU and FSU running backs as the top two rushers available. But they’re unquestionably two of the very best, and you can bet that a debate on which of the two is the better prospect will be had in plenty of scout meetings.

Former Oregon State Stars Set To Play In Super Bowl

This Sunday is the biggest game of the NFL season, and unless you are a fan of the Patriots or Falcons, you might not know who to root for. You could decide to root for the Falcons because Tom Brady already has too many nice things, maybe you will root for the Patriots because you enjoy Darth Vader and other evil things, or maybe you’ll root for the Beavers.

AFC holds on to defeat NFC 20-13 in Pro Bowl

The Buffalo Bills linebacker could have just sat on a late interception for the win, but instead opted to return the ball 20 yards and then lateralled it to Aqib Talib, who came within 13 yards of the end zone in the AFC’s 20-13 win over the NFC in the NFL’s all-star game Sunday night. “I was serious about that last drive,” Alexander said.

Tyrod had no help at receiver this year

Tyrod gained 101 yards on inaccurate throws last year. Cousins gained 105 yards on inaccurate throws from Weeks 1 to 2. @LeBatardShow Essentially, this is saying that Kirk Cousins was bailed out a lot in the first two weeks on bad throws because his receivers were good.

HUGE

Fail by the Kansas City offense if you ask me. Their defense did what they’re supposed to do by holding Pittsburgh to only field goals, so whoever’s involved with that KC offense I’d rather stay away from for our OC position.

Most Intriguing Part Of McDermott Press Conference

Dose anybody think it was strange that Tyrod Taylor was at One Bills Drive today for the Sean McDermott press conference ??? After just completing surgery and a potential medical exception on his contract, doesn’t it make more sense that he would be off the grid somewhere in secrecy ??? To me those are not the actions of a man that wants to eave, but a man that wants to stay.

Jets up 10-3 at halftime

When the Jets faced the Bills in Week 17 last season, they were in position to clinch a playoff berth with a win but they lost 22-17 thanks in large part to three Ryan Fitzpatrick interceptions. The Jets have nothing on the line this Sunday and the results have been better thus far.

Bills pull EJ Manuel in favor of Cardale Jones

The Bills opted not to play quarterback Tyrod Taylor on Sunday in what’s been termed a business decision related to the call they have to make about giving Taylor some $30 million in guaranteed money in March. EJ Manuel got the start, but he won’t be finishing the contest.

Two days after Rex Ryan was fired, Bills seemingly face uncertainty over QB Tyrod Taylor’s future

In addition to deciding which coach presents the best chance to snap the Bills’ 17 straight seasons of playoff-less football in January, the organization’s offseason checklist appears to include whether or not quarterback Tyrod Taylor will be in the fold beyond this season. Taylor, seemingly a Rex Ryan favorite, could be facing a uncertain future in Buffalo just months after agreeing to a five-year contract extension.
