Monahan leads Flames past Islanders 5-2

Sean Monahan had a goal and an assist as the Calgary Flames beat the New York Islanders 5-2 on Sunday afternoon to earn their seventh straight win. Michael Frolik, TJ Brodie, Micheal Ferland and Kris Versteeg also scored for the Flames , who have also won three in a row on home ice at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

Frederik Andersen flashes some lightning leather

Frederik Andersen was cool as a cucumber after making not one but two terrific saves, one that play-by-play man Paul Romanuk actually mistook for a goal. The Toronto Maple Leafs’ goaltender made a terrific glove save on the New York Islanders’ Josh Bailey Monday night at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
