Former Cleveland Indians catcher Luke Carlin has been named the manager of the Mahoning Valley Scrappers for the 2017 season which begins June 21. Carlin served on the Akron staff last year after his 14-year professional career ended after the 2015 season. Carlin appeared in 56 Major League games with the Indians, San Diego and Arizona.
