A Hockey City: Getting Serious

The Habs are desperate to bank every point on the line from here on in. It doesn’t help to have important guys out of the lineup, though I’m sure they’re doing everything they can to get back in as quickly as possible… Word from the NHL is that they still see no reason to allow their players to participate in the 2018 Winter Olympics.

Draisaitl, Oilers beat Canadiens 1-0 in shootout

Leon Draisaitl scored the only goal in a shootout, and the Edmonton Oilers stopped a three-game slide with a 1-0 victory over the Montreal Canadiens on Sunday. Cam Talbot had 22 saves as Edmonton salvaged the finale of a three-game trip that included only one regulation goal for the Oilers.

Predators Subban dealing with new injury, feels better daily

Subban is dealing with something he’s never had before but is seeing daily improvement with the upper-body injury that has kept the Norris Trophy winner out of the Predators’ lineup since Dec. 15. “It’s difficult, but at the same token I’m optimistic,” Subban said Tuesday . “I’ve been pretty lucky my whole career to play in pretty much all the games and just so happens that this is just the way it went for me this time.
