Stars end Capitals’ 15-game home win streak

As dominant as the Washington Capitals have been at home this season, they haven’t been able to figure out the Dallas Stars for years. That puzzling trend continued Monday night as the Stars beat the NHL-leading Capitals 4-2 to extend their point streak in the series to 12 games.

Caps raise home win streak to 15 straight

Nicklas Backstrom scored a power-play goal in overtime to lift the Capitals over the Flyers 2-1 on Saturday and extend their franchise-record home winning streak to 15 games. Backstrom beat Steve Mason 3:25 into overtime for his 20th goal of the season.

Ovechkin Reaches 1,000 Points

Alexander Ovechkin wasted little time putting the puck in the net in Wednesday night’s matchup between the Washington Capitals and Pittsburgh Penguins. It took Ovi all of 35 seconds to open the scoring for the game.
