Their time to shine: Tech counting on young defensive linemen to make up for void in recruiting class

One of the takeaways from national signing day 2017 is Texas Tech football coaches seem confident the potential of the young defensive linemen they’ve added in the last two years allowed them to almost forego that position in recruiting this year. Nelson Mbanasor, a 6-foot-3, 270-pound defensive end from Pflugerville Hendrickson, was the lone player among 19 newcomers who projects as a defensive linemen which, given the team’s defensive struggles, led to some raised eyebrows.
