The White Sox claimed outfielder Willy Garcia off waivers from the Pirates on Friday and designated outfielder Jason Coats for assignment. Garcia was designated for assignment by the Pirates on Dec. 31 after spending all season at Triple-A Indianapolis, where the 24-year-old hit .245 with 30 doubles, six home runs and 43 RBIs.
