Twitter, Snapchat Probed in France as Facebook Alters User Terms

French fraud watchdogs are investigating potential abusive clauses in the terms and conditions applicable for users of Twitter Inc., WhatsApp, Alphabet Inc.’s Google + and Snap Inc.’s Snapchat. Facebook Inc. was the first social platform to come under scrutiny but the Menlo Park, California-based company amended its user terms in December after the watchdogs identified several issues, Nathalie Homobono, who heads the French fraud office, known as DGCCRF, told journalists in Paris Thursday.

Gilead Sciences Inc.’s massive hepatitis C franchise is fading, the company warned Tuesday, projecting that sales this year could be just two-thirds of what investors had been expecting. Revenue from the company’s drugs for the viral infection will be $7.5 billion to $9 billion in 2017, Gilead said in a statement.

The San Mateo, California-based company said it had a loss of 82 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for pretax expenses and restructuring costs, were 29 cents per share.

GoPro Stock Drops After-Hours on Fourth-Quarter Revenue Miss

GoPro stock fell almost 9% to $10 in after-hours trading on Thursday after reporting lower-than-expected revenue for the 2016 fourth quarter and guiding for weak revenue in the current quarter as well. After the market closed, the San Mateo, Calif.-based maker of action cameras said revenue rose 23.8% year-over-year to $541 million, but missed the FactSet consensus of $576 million for the period.

Report: Evictions increasing in Menlo Park, county

The number of “no-cause” evictions in San Mateo County rose 300 percent over a three-year period, according to a report by two legal nonprofits. The report, conducted by Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County and Community Legal Services in East Palo Alto, was funded by The San Francisco Foundation.
