Alleged Car Wash Theft Leads Bedford Police Blotter

A theft at a local car wash and a number of calls for assistance were among the recent incidents keeping Bedford police officers busy. The alleged theft was reported about 3:25 p.m. on March 4, according to police, who said a woman reported that her cell phone was taken from her car while the vehicle went through the Splash Car Wash at 570 Bedford Road in Bedford Hills.

Child Protective Services Called For Domestic Incident, Bedford Police Say

A pair of Bedford Hills parents are facing potential charges after worried neighbors expressed concern to police following a domestic incident last week. At approximately 4:20 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25, police were dispatched to a Babbitt Road home when neighbors reported that they had heard a disturbance coming from the property.

Car Accidents, Apparent Shoplifting Among Bedford Police Reports

The Bedford Police Department had a busy week last week, helping everyone from a 2-year-old that fell on her head to a teenager that went missing from a group home for several days. Police saw a busy morning that included three car accidents in less than two hours on Monday, Feb. 13. At approximately 8:30 a.m., a hit-and-run occurred on Apestrong Road in Bedford when an oil delivery truck that was partially parked on the roadway was struck by a driver who attempted to pass the truck.

Tree Lightings, Shops’ Holiday Gatherings Planned In Bedford’s Hamlets

Residents in Bedford's three hamlets are in for treats over the the next week, as a series of tree lightings and holiday shopping offers are planned. In Bedford Village, a Christmas tree lighting will be held on the Village Green on Friday at 7 p.m., according to an announcement from the Bedford Village Business Association.

Mount Kisco Stakeholders Join ShopRite For $9K Fundraiser To Battle Hunger

In recognition of September's National Hunger Action Month, ShopRite recently hosted a ShopRite Partners In Caring "Help Bag Hunger" day in many of its stores -- and the Bedford store was able to present $9,000 in donations the Community Center of Northern Westchester. Bedford Town Supervisor Chris Burdick, Mount Kisco Trustee Karen Schleimer and representatives of the Community Center were on hand for the event.
