A Bronxville educator helped a group of Afghani refugees find their voice through the art of acting and stage performance. While traveling through Indonesia over the summer, Bronxville High School English teacher Victor Maxwell - who is also a professionally trained actor and playwright - was tasked with assisting an inexperienced group of refugees with a play in Malaysia to "help give them a voice."

Tuckahoe Man Cited For Leaving Scene Of An Accident Following Altercation

Members of the Bronxville Police Department received a call shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 17 from a passerby, reporting that the two men had gotten into an altercation. Police said that the subsequent investigation, which included the use of Village Surveillance Cameras resulted in a 50-year-old man from Yonkers being cited for improper passing, and a 68-year-old man from Tuckahoe being cited for improper passing, leaving the scene of an accident with property damage and hazardously crossing pavement markings.

Charles H. Schadt, Westinghouse Electric Corp. manager

Charles H. Schadt, a retired Westinghouse Electric Corp. department manager and former Ruxton resident, died Oct. 11 of heart failure at NCH Hospital in Naples, Fla. He was 85. The son of Herman Schadt, a businessman, and Margaret Schadt, a homemaker, Charles Herman Schadt was born in Bronxville, N.Y., and raised in Crestwood, N.Y. After graduating in 1949 from Roosevelt High School, he earned a bachelor's degree in 1953 in electrical engineering from Lehigh University and enlisted in the Army, where he served for two years.

A Bronxville taxi driver was issued a summons after being argumentative and getting into a verbal disagreement with a potential passenger. Police in Bronxville issued a ticket on Saturday, Oct. 7 when a caller reported that he was having a disagreement with the driver, who refused to provide the cost of the fare from Lawrence Hospital into the Bronx.

Police Investigate Suspicious Man Who Forced Bronxville School To Lock Down

Bronxville Police received a call on Wednesday afternoon from an employee at St. Joseph's School who reported that the building was on lockdown because an unknown man entered the building on unknown business and they were unable to locate him. Officers from the Bronxville and Tuckahoe Police Departments were dispatched to the school, where they conducted a thorough search of the building, which determined that the man had left prior to their arrival.

Police: Suspects Flee On Foot After Crashing Stolen Car From New Rochelle

Police are on the hunt for two suspects that were allegedly operating a stolen vehicle in New Rochelle, crashed in Yonkers and fled on foot, Bronxville Police said. Officers were on patrol at approximately 3:40 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 6 when they spotted the vehicle, which had been reported stolen, commit a stop sign violation at the intersection of Parkway Road and Westside Circle in Bronxville.

Patricia B. Rittman, of Chautauqua, N.Y., formerly of Bronxville, N.Y., passed from this world on Oct. 6, 2017, she was 90. Patricia was born Aug. 15, 1927, in Bronxville N.Y., to William and Anne Bybell.
