Pay It Forward: Bronxville Students Raise Thousands For African Children

A group of Bronxville High School students are paying it forward after spending two weeks in Tanzania, Africa last summer. Last summer, seniors Mimi Buendia, Nan Carpenter, Mac Crawford and Nicholas O'Brien spent weeks at the MainSprings children's orphanage - once known as the Janada L. Batchelor Foundation for Children - and since returning home, decided to keep helping the children in Africa.

Bronxville High School Students Celebrated For Efforts On Gun Safety

Students from the Bronxville High School were among those celebrated for taking a stand in the debate on gun violence at the New Yorkers Against Gun Violence Westchester Regional benefit, which was held in Eastchester on April 26. Seniors Viena Pentikainen and Kiki Shinsato, sophomore Esther Devitt and freshman Michael Randall were invited to attend by Scarsdale Assemblywoman Amy Paulin, who was one of the honorees at the event. Throughout the evening, the students heard from Paulin who spoke about the importance of listening to people with different points of view.

Bronxville Schools: No Prepayment Of Taxes Without Warrant

Although village residents have been receiving conflicting information regarding the pre-payment of taxes in Bronxville, the school district has refused a warrant to allow such payment. This week, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed an executive order allowing New Yorkers to prepay property taxes following the passage of the Republican tax reform earlier this month.

The Bronxville Elementary School community recently collected 242 pajamas to ensure that children in need will have warm, comforting pajamas to change into before the night falls.
