The North Salem baseball team arrived home Saturday night not only as hometown heroes, but state champions for the first time. The Tigers, who defeated Section 5's Avon High School, 11-8, earlier in the day in Binghamton to win the Class C state title were escorted back to the high school by the Croton Falls fire department while dozens of fans gathered in an impromptu celebration.
