Pay-By-Phone Parking Coming To Eastchester Via Pango

Parking in Eastchester is going to get a little smarter - and easier - for motorists and shoppers, as the town plans to make use of a new mobile application that will simplify paying for parking. According to town officials, Eastchester will soon team up with Pango, a company that created a system that allows motorists to park and pay using their cell phones.

SUV Loses Control, Overturns In Tuckahoe

First-responders in Tuckahoe rushed to the scene of a rollover crash that may have left a person pinned in the vehicle. Paramedics from the Eastchester EMS, Fire Department and Tuckahoe Police Department were dispatched to the intersection of Lincoln and Oakland Avenue at approximately 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday, officials said.

Tuckahoe Residents To Vote On Special Schools’ Property Purchase

Tuckahoe residents will soon head to the polls for a special schools' property vote as they determine whether they should purchase property in Eastchester as enrollment is expected to swell. In an effort to increase classroom space, the Tuckahoe Board of Education announced a proposal to purchase a property near William E. Cottle Elementary School in January, which was scheduled to be put to a special public vote in March, before Mother Nature intervened and a storm forced a delay.

Teen Charged With Assault Following Bloody Fight In Scarsdale, Police Say

Following a lengthy investigation into an assault that took place at the Freightway Garage last month, Scarsdale police have arrested a pair of Eastchester residents for their roles in a fight that left a woman's face bloody. Police have arrested Tuckahoe resident Bruno Bertozzi, 21 and 19-year-old Eastchester resident Jasmin Rodriguez for their roles in a Jan. 21 incident turned violent, Chief Andrew Matturro said on Tuesday.

Eastchester Chamber Hosts Ribbon Cutting for The Chocolate Box Cafe

The Eastchester/Tuckahoe Chamber of Commerce with town Mayor Steven A. Ecklond welcomed the Chocolate Box Cafe to the business community with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, Jan. 27. The ceremony was held at the Cafe on 300-A Columbus Avenue in Tuckahoe, where it opened in September last year. "We're pleased to have the Chocolate Box Cafe as a Chamber member," said Chamber President Paul Okura.

Immaculate Conception Students To Walk For A Cause In Eastchester

For the 10th straight year, students at the Immaculate Conception School in Tuckahoe are set to take to the streets to raise money to support their school and parish. Next week, at the annual Immaculate Conception Walk-a-Thon, students will walk from their campus on Winter Hill Road down to Depot Square as part of one of the school's biggest fundraisers of the year.
