You only live once or "YOLO" is the catchphrase of a campaign underway to promote drug-free living in Yorktown. The Alliance for Safe Kids invites local residents to take a stand against drugs by celebrating Red Ribbon Week through Oct. 31. Red ribbons with special messages are hung around Yorktown and at the Jefferson Valley Mall, a visible reminder to parents, teachers, business owners and community organizations to promote drug-free lifestyles.

A 19-year-old Peekskill teen was charged with petit larceny after he was caught stealing money from the cash register at Hollister's in the Jefferson Valley Mall Yorktown where he was employed, according to Yorktown Police. Jefferson Valley Man Convicted Of Illegally Photographing HS Student

A Jefferson Valley man was convicted by a jury Wednesday of illegally taking photos of a female student from Kennedy Catholic High School at the Goldens Bridge train station.
