Eastchester Holding Cancer-Fighting ‘Relay For Life’ Event

Hundreds, if not thousands, of folks will be lacing up their running shoes this spring all over Westchester to help fight a deadly disease. The American Cancer Society says that 13 Relay for Life events have been scheduled for May 20 through June 19. The community-led events will be held in: Eastchester, Mamaroneck, Chappaqua, Harrison, Katonah-Lewisboro, the Tarrytowns, Yorktown, Yonkers, Somers, Ossining and the Hendrick Hudson School District.

Children Of American Revolution Chapter Forming In Lower Hudson Valley

The John Jay Society and the National Society of Children of the American Revolution have scheduled an introductory meeting for a new children's group starting in Westchester, Rockland and Putnam counties. Membership in the local chapter of the Children of the American Revolution is expected to be the primary topic of discussion during the 2 p.m. meeting Saturday at the John Jay Homestead in Katonah, according to a statement.

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of when women were granted the right to vote across the country, the Katonah Village Library announced that it will host a photo gallery. The gallery, which will run in March, is called "Votes for Women: Celebrating New York's Suffrage Centennial."
