Westchester Mom ‘Rocks’ It With Inspirational Messages On Stones

Two days after the riots in Charlottesville, VA in August, the Katonah mom felt she had to do something to both help make sense of the world -- and teach her kids they are responsible for how their future will look.

Town Of Lewisboro To Lease Portion Of Closed Elementary School

Nearly three years after Lewisboro Elementary School was shuttered due to falling enrollment across younger grade levels, the Katonah-Lewisboro School District announced that it has reached a deal for the town of Lewisboro to lease roughly 20 percent of the building. The district announced that the proposed lease, which would take effect on April 1 of this year, is subject to a vote of approval by the school board at a meeting on Saturday, while the Lewisboro Town Board is set to ratify the agreement on Monday.

‘Abraham Lincoln’ Visits Katonah-Lewisboro Schools

Students at two of Katonah-Lewisboro's elementary schools got visits from Abraham Lincoln reenactor Lou Del Bianco this past week, according to Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES, which arrange the trips through its Arts in Education program. Del Bianco, sporting the 16th president's famous stovepipe hat and beard, recited historical experiences for kids at Katonah Elementary School and Meadow Pond Elementary School last week.
