With as much as a foot of snow expected to hit the region, officials in Mamaroneck have declared a snow emergency that will be effective as of 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday. According to the New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, the state is anticipating that between 16 and 20 inches of snow may fall in the lower Hudson Valley, with more than a foot coming to upstate New York.
This week, the Mamaroneck Shakespeare Players will be performing Macbeth and The Tempest in the high school's 43rd consecutive season. Lyle Kamlet, a Mount Vernon resident, was sentenced Tuesday to three years and three months in prison by Judge Kenneth M. Karas in federal court in White Plains, according to Preet Bharara, U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York.
