New Castle Mulls Changing Town Name To Familiar One: Chappaqua

Members of the New Castle Town Board are considering whether to make one of the biggest alterations to the municipality in its 291-year history: changing its official name to the Town of Chappaqua. While the town's name has been the same since its 18th-century founding, its name recognition has lagged far behind its hamlets, Chappaqua and Millwood, a point that isn't lost on the community's elected officials.

DeCicco & Sons Opens Millwood Store With Packed Crowd

Chappaqua residents Mikayla Diederich and Dillon Rusiecki were among those who stopped by DeCicco & Sons on its opening day in Millwood. The grocer is located in Millwood Plaza, in a space that was occupied by supermarket company A&P before it closed 13 months earlier due to bankruptcy.

Briarcliff Students Help Build Habitat Home In Millwood

Two local families have new homes to move into in Millwood and New Castle thanks to many volunteers, including ones from the Briarcliff High School Habitat Club. The students worked last weekend on the houses, which have items such as windows, doors and siding, paid for through sponsorships, said CEO Jim Killoran.

Millwood Hosting Free Movie Nights In August

The Town of New Castle and the Chappaqua-Millwood Chamber of Commerce present "Movies in Millwood" -- and the free series begins this Friday, with "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids." Folks can begin arriving at 6:30 p.m., and the movies will begin at approximately 8:30.
