Bronxville Police Track Down Alleged High-End Clothing Store Shoplifter

Detectives from the Bronxville Police Department tracked down a 24-year-old woman who allegedly stole nearly $1,000 in merchandise from a high-end clothing store. Police were notified of a shoplifter at J. McLaughlin on Wednesday, Nov. 7 when the store manager witnessed Mount Vernon resident Syiesha Jackson walking out of the store with merchandise valued at $948.

A Mount Vernon motorist was who was stopped in Bronxville last week for driving on the wrong side of the road was arrested with a blood-alcohol content approaching four times the legal limit. At approximately 11 p.m. on Tuesday, April 4, officers in Bronxville stopped 33-year-old Kyle Scully after he was spotted traveling the wrong way on Palumbo Place in his Audi.

Some southern Westchester residents and businesses may see little to no water pressure on Tuesday morning as the region experiences service interruptions in certain parts of the area. According to officials, multiple municipalities - including Yonkers, Larchmont, Mount Vernon, New Rochelle, Eastchester and Bronxville - were all experiencing water pressure issues after a shaft at an upstate water infrastructure that supplies the area was shut down on Tuesday morning.

Alcohol Not A Factor In Saw Mill Parkway Fiery Wrong-Way Crash, Police Say

On Wednesday, police announced that shortly after midnight on Tuesday morning, Mount Vernon resident Michael Quarshire, 23, drove the wrong way up the Rumsey Road ramp on the Saw Mill River Parkway, heading north into the southbound lanes. While Quarshire was driving the wrong way, his vehicle struck a Mercedes Benz - driven by an unidentified woman - that was heading in the opposite direction.
