In their continued efforts to improve cohesion within the community, the Mount Vernon Police Department will soon sport some new gear to help build trust with the constituent they protect. Congressman Eliot Engel, a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, has secured an $84,000 federal grant as part of the Body Worn Camera Policy and Implementation Program to purchase body-worn camera for the Mount Vernon Police Department.
