Chess enthusiasts of all ages and abilities are invited to join instructors and students from the National Scholastic Chess Foundation for Chess in the Park being held Monday, October 9 from 1 to 4 pm at the Ruby Dee Park at 1 Library Plaza in New Rochelle. The event will feature a simultaneous exhibition by National Master Ricardo Perez Billinghurst, a chess lecture from FIDE Master Sunil Weeramantry, open play with the NSCF instructors and presentations by invited guests include New Rochelle Mayor Noam Bramson and Westchester County Legislator James Maisano.

The New Rochelle Public Library and the Zonta Club of New Rochelle will present a three-part film series, "Extraordinary Women," on three Tuesday evenings at 7:00 pm during the month of March. The free movies will be shown on the big screen of the Ossie Davis Theater.
Students will play all four rounds in Saturday's chess tournament at William B. Ward Elementary School in New Rochelle. The National Scholastic Chess Foundation event will be organized in a round-robin system, so all students will play all four rounds, three in a Future Masters section, according to the announcement.
