The Battle of Pelham during the Revolutionary War was fought 241 years ago yesterday on October 18, 1776. The following day, 241 years ago today, British and Hessian troops were encamped along both sides of what we know today as Colonial Avenue from the Hutchinson River to the boundary with New Rochelle and beyond.
