MBK New Rochelle Hosts 2nd Annual “Take a Student Ambassador to Work Day”

While thousands of students joined their Mom and Dad at work last Thursday, 46 New Rochelle High School students traveled to 16 different workplaces as part of the Second Annual "Take a Student Ambassador to Work Day," an initiative pioneered by My Brother's Keeper New Rochelle and designed to piggyback on the national Take your Son or Daughter to Work Day. "Our high school students had the opportunity to interact with engineers, doctors, lawyers, judges, investment bankers and professionals in the tech, music, marketing and insurance fields," says Camille Edwards Thomas, a House Principal at NRHS and co-chair of MBKNewRo's Ambassador Committee.

New Rochelle Board of Education President Rachel Relkin was recently confronted by questions about the integrity of the "Task Force on Reducing Violence in the Lives of Children and Youth". Concerns were raised about the committee's ability to evaluate any failures by the district administration when the chairman was recommended by the leader of the district administration, namely, Schools Superintendent Dr. Brian Osborne.
