Man charged with strangling, punching wife

A man accused of strangling, punching and fracturing bones in his wife's face during an argument in front of her three children in Vernon pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned last week. Jermaine Channer, 37, of New Rochelle, N.Y., is charged with second-degree aggravated assault, three counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, second-degree burglary, third-degree terroristic threats/threatening to kill, and third-degree theft.
