The first incident, which police said took place at Westlake High School on Wednesday, Feb. 8, involved a 17-year-old and an 18-year-old from Thornwood. They both were charged with third-degree assault and had been scheduled to appear in Town Court on an unspecified date.

The Mount Pleasant Central School District was on high alert and police beefed up patrols after a Thornwood teenager issued potentially threatening verbal comments at Westlake High School and on social media, warning students not to go to class on Friday. According to Mount Pleasant Schools Superintendent Susan Guiney, after learning about the alleged threats from some of his classmates, the high school administration met with the student, his parents and the Mount Pleasant Police Department.
An unidentified ninth-grader at Westlake High School in Thornwood has reportedly been suspended after being accused of posting a cryptic threat and photos of himself with guns. Police found that he was not a threat, but parents are still worried.
