VALHALLA, N.Y., March 17, 2017-At the stroke of noon today, medical school seniors across the nation received simultaneous notification of where they will perform their residency training. At New York Medical College, 200+ medical students were matched to residency programs such as internal medicine, pediatrics, anesthesiology, emergency medicine, family medicine and radiology, as well as specialty programs such as dermatology, thoracic surgery and plastic surgery.

As partners with equal ownership, KKR and CDPQ will acquire USI from Onex Corporation and its affiliates in a transaction that values USI at $4.3 billion. According to state Department of Transportation spokeswoman Gina DiSarro, all lanes on both the north and south sides of the highway, between Route 100 in Valhalla and the Taconic State Parkway/Saw Mill River Parkway in Mount Pleasant, will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly starting on Tuesday, Feb. 21, and running through Thursday, Feb. 23. Weather permitting, a utility company will be preforming maintenance work. DOT crews are not involved in the work, DiSarro said.

In an ongoing effort to make the state's rail crossings safer, the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles has increased the points assigned to drivers found guilty of violating the rules governing such crossings from three points to five, officials said.
