Career Expo Scheduled At BOCES’ Valhalla Campus

The Southern Westchester BOCES Center for Adult & Community Services will host a Class & Career Expo on Saturday, March 25, at the BOCES Center for Career Services campus in Valhalla. The half-day event, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., will provide an opportunity for adult students and other job seekers to discover the opportunities available at BOCES, including information on a number of popular courses that can lead to successful careers in the automotive, construction/carpentry, electric, HVAC, plumbing and welding industries.

Man Pleads Guilty To Rape, Robbery In Westchester Incidents

A homeless man from Valhalla is facing life in prison after pleading guilty to multiple felony charges that include rape and robbery, Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino said Tuesday. Scarpino said that Akhim Blount, 37, has pleaded guilty to a 13-count indictment stemming back to several incidents in 2015.

Holiday Drives Top Briarcliff Village Manager’s Report

Briarcliff police and firefighters are conducting several drives to collect warm clothing and toys for local families in need this holiday season. Village Manager Philip E. Zegarelli noted in his latest report that the Police Benevolent Association is accepting new or gently used winter coats and new, unwrapped toys at police headquarters, 1111 Pleasantville Road at any time through Friday, Dec. 16. The toys will be distributed to patients at the Maria Fareri Children's Hospital at the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, Zegarelli said.
