DOWNTOWN MUSIC PRESENTS 10th ANNIVERSARY CONCERT OF WHITE PLAINS OWN PERFORMERS' PERFORMERS "THE DOWNTOWN SINONIETTA" AT GRACE CHURCH NOON ON WEDNESDAY The local all-star performers from some of the greatest performing organizations in the world, known as "The Downtown Sinfonietta" will celebrate its 10th Anniversary Wednesday since it was created in 2006 by Timothy Lewis, the founder and Artistic Director of our Downtown Music at Grace concert series. His vision was to have a resident chamber orchestra in place that would supplement and enhance the very successful Wednesday Noonday Getaway Concerts that began in White Plains in 1988.

Westchester Building Managers Awarded For Excellence

The Best of BOMA, Westchester County Signature Building Team of the Year Award, for managing 1 North Lexington Ave. in White Plains, was awarded to Molloy, Kevin Ullrich, Robert Melly, and Joseph Roccuzzo of Cushman & Wakefield, according to a company announcement. The team was honored at the 25th Annual Hall of Honor Awards held at Abigail Kirsch at Tappan Hall Mansion in Tarrytown.

Dieruff’s McWhite sets regional record in 100 high hurdles

The Dieruff senior's time of 13.84 seconds in the afternoon final of the PIAA Class AAA girls track and field championships at Shippensburg University's Seth Grove Stadium broke a regional mark that had stood since 1977, when Penny Fales of Hackettstown ran a 13.9 time at the Loucks Games in White Plains, N.Y. At the time, Fales' effort was a national high school record. After 39 years, times have dropped, and the current national record is 13.03 by Vashti Thomas of Mount Pleasant High School in 2007.
