Scarsdale-Based Orchestra Performs Best Of Czech Music

The Scarsdale-based Hoff-Barthelson Music School Festival Orchestra takes the stage Dec. 10 in White Plains to perform its winter concert featuring guest oboist Gerard Reuter helping the orchestra perform "The Best of Czech Music." Titled "Life and Nature: The Best of Czech Music," the concert will feature the music of composers Smetana, Martinu and Dvorak.

Taconic Opera Performing ‘Carmen’ In White Plains

After two years Taconic Opera will return with Bizet's "Carmen" at the Music Conservatory of Westchester, 216 Central Ave. in White Plains for a single performance on June 5 at 2:30 p.m. This work will be performed in its original French. Conducted by Music Director, Jun Nakabayashi, the orchestra and lead singers of Taconic Opera will perform Carmen in a semi-staged production and audience members can be part of the chorus of the opera, music will be provided on request.
