St. Peter’s stays positive despite tough football loss to Stepinac

St. Peter's head football coach Mark DeCristoforo would have loved nothing more than to leave White Plains with a huge road win at Archbishop Stepinac on Saturday. But despite suffering a heart-breaking 27-20 overtime loss to the two-time defending CHSFL AAA champion Crusaders, the fourth-year coach said he'd do nothing different in the waning moments of the game.

Astorino invites Westchester residents to the 2016 Westchester Sports Hall of Fame ceremony for the induction of four honorees who have gained national prominence, and contributed to sports in Westchester. The ceremony will be held on Thursday, Oct. 20, at the Westchester County Center in White Plains.

Two Westchester Varsity Football Teams Rank Among Top 5 In State

Two varsity football teams from the Hudson Valley are among the top five ranked teams in MaxPreps.com's Preseason New York State Fab 5. Archbishop Stepinac of White Plains is ranked No. 1. The Crusaders, coming off a 12-0 season, are led by Mahopac resident Antonio Giannico, a senior running back/linebacker who runs the 40-yard dash in 4.68 seconds, according to the MaxPreps story.
