25 Suspects Charged In ‘Operation Trick Or Treat’ Westchester Drug Bust

More than two dozen alleged drug dealers and 400 bags of heroin and other drugs are off the street following the "Operation Trick-or-Treat" bust in Westchester, authorities announced Tuesday. Yonkers Police Commissioner Charles Gardner said that during the multi-jurisdictional bust, 25 dealers were apprehended, and undercover officers seized more than 400 bags of heroin, crack cocaine, angel dust and other drugs during the Halloween-themed operation.

Three Firefighters Injured In Blaze At Yonkers Building

The fire began around 6 a.m. Saturday at Next Generation Towing and Service Center on Vredenburgh Avenue, after flammable materials in the back of a truck that had been towed to the business combusted and started a fire, said Yonkers Deputy Fire Chief Kevin Ford. The truck was located under a carport and the flames quickly spread to the side and roof area of the building, the chief said.

Reform Party Chair Calls On Astorino To Resign

With eight days to go until Election Day, Senator George Latimer, the Democratic nominee for County Executive, is turning up the heat on his opponent, incumbent Rob Astorino. . At a press conference in Yonkers Monday, Latimer, a Rye resident, was joined by Curtis Sliwa, chairman of the New York Reform Party, calling on Astorino to resign as county executive for allegedly accepting bribes, including a Rolex watch, as part of a federal corruption probe.
