A tractor-trailer slammed into an overpass overnight, backing up traffic for hours on the Bronx River Parkway in Westchester. The tractor-trailer, driving illegally on the parkway, crashed around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday on the southbound side just north of the Cross County Parkway near the Yonkers-Mount Vernon border, Westchester County Police said.
Traffic was tied up on the Bronx River Parkway during Thursday's morning commute when a van flew off the Cross County overpass in Yonkers, coming to a crashing half below. The driver of a van was hospitalized with minor injuries after he was driving up the westbound ramp of the Cross County Parkway shortly before 6:30 a.m. when he lost control on the curved roadway, went through the guardrail, off the edge and landed in the median of the Bronx River Parkway, police said.
