Air Strike to launch last sortie at Yonkers

The 4-year-old son impressed at 2, winning a $75,000 Indiana bred stakes at Hoosier Park and dead-heating in the $147,200 Kindergarten Classic at the Meadowlands.

NAADA trots at Yonkers to Schwartz & Ciavardini

Yonkers, NY- --As the fourth and final series of the North American Amateur Drivers Association nears completion the eighth leg of the 10-race Fall competition was contested at Yonkers Raceway with two short fields going to post prior to the harness racing betting card getting underway and when both events were completed Alan Schwartz and Bobby Ciavardini each emerged victorious in their respective splits. Schwartz won with his old warhorse Ladys Big Stormont in 2:01.1 while Ciavardini copped his division with Baltimor AS in 2:01.4. Both races were contested over a sloppy racetrack.

The $1 Million Yonkers International Trot at Empire City Casino will be contested on Saturday afternoon, October 13, at Yonkers Raceway when 10 of the world's elite trotters converge on the historic harness oval for the 40th edition of the 1 - mile global classic. It will be the fourth straight year that the purse is the richest in the history of New York State harness racing, since Empire City president and CEO, Timothy J.
