Police Issue Fraud Alert Following Stolen USPS Mailboxes In Yonkers

Detectives from the Yonkers Police Department and members of the United States Postal Service are investigating several incidents of mailbox theft that took place over the weekend. The department issued a fraud alert on Monday warning residents that they are investigating several stolen mailboxes that were taken from throughout the city during the overnight hours on Saturday, Dec. 2. Mailboxes that were removed include the USPS boxes at the intersections of Roxbury Drive and Central Park Avenue, North Broadway at Gateway Road and Bellvue Avenue at Roberts Avenue.

Scam Prompts Postal Service To Make Mailbox Changes In Yonkers

Following a suspicious fishing scam on city mailboxes, the Yonkers Police Department announced that the United States Postal Service will be making changes. The Yonkers Police Department announced on Friday that the USPS is converting mailboxes in Yonkers to the slot variety following reports of glue being smeared on several city mailboxes.
