Westchester county executive says Muslims are welcome here

The Republican county executive told about 100 Muslims gathered at the Andalusia Islamic School on Friday that he would withdraw his support of President Trump’s travel ban if he believed it targeted Muslims because of their religion. But the Journal News reports that Astorino said he does not believe the ban constitutes “a religious test.”

One dead, five injured in New York nightclub shooting; suspect arrested

Police say a New York City man wanted for attempted murder opened fire at a nightclub in suburban Westchester County early Sunday, killing the club’s co-owner and injuring five other people. The Journal News reported that the unidentified suspect initially escaped after being tackled by security at the Mansion nightclub, but was quickly apprehended by police.
