New Crisis Intervention Trainees Welcomed By Astorino

Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino thanked 35 law enforcement officers Thursday during their final day of Crisis Intervention Training at the county Police Academy: in Valhalla. Astorino was joined by Dr. Mark Herceg, commissioner of the County Department of Health, in welcoming the patrol officers and public safety staff and thank theming for their service.

Astorino Promotes Free Lead Testing for Residents

County Executive Robert P. Astorino encourages residents who are concerned about potential lead in their drinking water to take advantage of a free testing kit, that is now available through the Westchester County Department of Labs and Research. All residents are eligible to receive a test kit whether they are served by a private well or a public water system.

Man Pleads Guilty To Rape, Robbery In Westchester Incidents

A homeless man from Valhalla is facing life in prison after pleading guilty to multiple felony charges that include rape and robbery, Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino said Tuesday. Scarpino said that Akhim Blount, 37, has pleaded guilty to a 13-count indictment stemming back to several incidents in 2015.
