Mary Berry ‘won’t go on Strictly because husband would leave’

Mary Berry has pledged she will never swap her baking apron for dancing shoes and take a turn around the Strictly Come Dancing dancefloor because her husband would leave her. The former Great British Bake Off star beat Strictly’s retiring judge Len Goodman to be named best TV judge at the National Television Awards but said she will not make a bid to lift the glitter ball trophy.

Mary Berry vs Len Goodman at the National Television Awards

Len Goodman and Mary Berry will compete to be named best TV judge at the National Television Awards after departing from their respective shows. Len waltzed off Strictly Come Dancing in December after 12 years as head judge while Mary opted out of the Great British Bake Off’s move from the BBC to Channel 4. Goodman, 72, and Berry, 81, will take on The X Factor’s Nicole Scherzinger and Britain’s Got Talent’s David Walliams, as well as Simon Cowell, the boss of both reality TV shows, to be named best TV judge.

You will not BELIEVE Big Brother star Hughie Maughan’s insane fake tan

We’re still trying to get over the idea of Ed Balls having a spray tan on the latest series of Strictly Come Dancing, but now somebody has come in and completely trumped the situation in the most spectacular manner. Former Big Brother star Hughie Maughan appeared in Ireland’s version of Dancing With The Stars at the weekend with a fake tan so extraordinary, he could probably be seen from the moon.

Viewers in tears as Strictly Come Dancing says goodbye to Len Goodman

During the finale of the popular BBC competition, several former contestants took part in a touching video to pay tribute to the professional ballroom dancer’s time on the show. Along with the presenters, Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly and Len’s fellow judges, Bruno Tonioli, Darcey Bussell and Craig Revel Horwood, everyone involved spoke fondly about their colleague, leaving not a dry eye in the house! Professional dancer Anton du Beke said: “He brings joy to people and that’s why people love Len,” while Craig said: “It has been amazing, he’s not only a fantastic colleague but an amazing friend and I’m really going to miss him.”
