Superchunk’s Mac McCaughan has shared a sorta funny but mostly overwhelmingly bleak new song called “Happy New Year (Prince Can’t Die Again” that reflects on the horrible year we’ve just had. It was written and recorded on Christmas Eve “in a moment of trying to look at any possible bright side of the coming new year after the disaster that was this one,” per the song’s Bandcamp page .
