Viola Davis ‘had issues’ with big break movie The Help

Oscar nominated actress Viola Davis admits she had “a lot of issues” with the film that gave her her big break, but said she knew it would change her career. Davis played maid Abileen Clark in the big screen adaptation of Kathryn Stockett’s best-selling book The Help – which also starred Emma Stone, Octavia Spencer, Bryce Dallas Howard and Jessica Chastain.

‘La La Land’ breaks record at Golden Globes

The musical film — starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling — won all seven of the awards for which it received nominations including best motion picture – musical or comedy, best director, best screenplay, best score and acting awards for its stars. Host Jimmy Fallon kicked off the broadcast with a taped sketch that riffed off “La La Land” — foreshadowing the winning theme of the night.
