Humane Society’s growth in services leaves need for space

A team of board members, employees and volunteers have worked tirelessly to change the image of the Humane Society’s shelter from a “pound” to drop off unwanted animals to a safe place to house, rehabilitate and re-home all types of animals throughout the county. “People just have always viewed this as a dog pound,” said the Humane Society’s Shelter Manager Cacey Long, who started as a board member in May of 2015.
