Owners of unvaccinated dogs advised to avoid Chesnut Park

Owners of unvaccinated dogs are advised to temporarily avoid bringing pets to Chesnut Park in Palm Harbor after the discovery of canine distemper virus in a raccoon prompts vaccination reminder. As a precautionary measure, Pinellas County Animal Services is advising pet owners to refrain from bringing puppies, senior dogs, unvaccinated dogs or dogs that may have compromised immune systems to John Chesnut Sr. Park, 2200 East Lake Road in Palm Harbor, until further notice.

Ruth Law Team Wins $5.8 Million Verdict Against Philip Morris and R.J. Reynolds

St. Petersburg attorney Eric Roslansky of The Ruth Law Team and Tampa attorney Brent Bigger of Knopf Bigger win substantial case against tobacco companies Philip Morris and R.J. Reynolds and $5.8 million in damages for the family of a woman who died of lung cancer. This case was all about the conscious decisions of these cigarette companies and their efforts to addict children and teenagers to a lifetime of smoking.

Animal Services waives some fees during January

Pinellas County Animal Services is offering waived adoption fees for all adult dogs and dogs over 25 pounds until Jan. 31. Animal Services had 31 dogs available for adoption that began 2017 in the shelter. All adoptable dogs and cats receive a medical checkup, spaying/neutering, vaccinations, internal and external parasite control, heartworm tests, feline leukemia testing and microchipping, valued at $200.
