Northern Soul sensations unite for charity single

Bolton singer Johnny Boy is among the artists who have been brought together for a new charity version of the classic Northern Soul track Do I Love You . The single is a remake of one of the most popular releases on the Northern Soul scene, originally made famous by Frank Wilson and subsequently recorded by Chris Clark.

Sam Moore to sing at Trump inaugural event

Sam Moore of the soul duo Sam and Dave has been added to the list of performers for President-elect Donald Trump’s inaugural events. Moore told The Associated Press on Tuesday that he felt that the criticism leveled at singer Jennifer Holliday, which led to her to back out of the event, was unfair.

This week in music: 1974 The Joker

For the 3rd week of January in 1974 The Hot 100 had former Beatle Ringo Starr at number five with You’re Sixteen. The song was a remake of a 1960 hit by Johnny Burnette who took it all the way to number 3. Ringo did a little better taking it all the way to the top of the charts.

Emerging Horizons ribbon cutting

A ribbon cutting was held Friday, to welcome Emerging Horizons-Empowered Mind, Body and Soul, a new business promoting spiritual, mental and physical well being, to Blackfoot. Kebbie Wheeler and Tauna Butler opened the business to help people find peace and serenity in there lives using Aura and Chakra imaging, as well as massage and Bowen therapy and providing Time Laboratory essential oils.
