ALZHEIMER’S FAMILY CAREGIVER WORKSHOPS: Home Instead Senior Care will hold free Alzheimer’s Family Caregiver workshops from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, at Home Instead Senior Care office, 269 Bennett St., Luzerne. The workshops will help participants learn how to communicate with their loved one, manage difficult behaviors, and understand behavioral and cognitive symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease.

Judge won’t throw out evidence in tunnel weapons case

A New Jersey judge on Monday announced her decision not to throw out evidence against three people who said they were on a rescue mission to help save a teenager from a New York heroin den when they were stopped with a cache of weapons outside of the Holland Tunnel last June. John Cramsey, Dean Smith and Kimberly Arendt, all of Pennsylvania, have pleaded not guilty to weapons possession charges.

Even though President Trump has promised to gut the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, people are still within the deadline to sign up for 2017 healthcare coverage. Students from the Wilkes University School of Pharmacy held a signup fair along South Street in Wilkes Barre on Saturday to help members of the community sign up.
