And though it may sound like federal intrusion into local issues, there already signs that some cities might welcome that aid.

Police, feds looking for burglars who robbed Ohio gun store

Local police and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are searching for a team of burglars who broke into a northeast Ohio gun shop last month and stole seven rifles. The ATF says the theft occurred around 4:15 a.m. on Dec. 27 at Accurate Arms and Ammunition gun store in North Royalton.

Federal Hold Up For Gold Card Gun Permits Ina

Issues with the federal government are affecting a new gun permit that went into effect New Year’s Day. It’s called the gold card and it allows South Dakotans who carry it to buy a gun, without having to go through the federal National Instant Criminal Background Check System, or NICS.

The nationally-famous Bill Goodman Gun & Knife Show will be held at the Wilson County Expo Center Jan., 28-29 after being forced out at the State Fairgrounds in Nashville amid what the show’s organizer calls false accusations. “Let’s start with the so-called ‘gun show loophole’,” says David Goodman, whose late father founded the Kentucky-based trade show 49 years ago and has made annual appearances at the Fairgrounds for 35 years.
