NY congresswoman urges open White House press briefings

A New York congresswoman has voiced outrage over the White House decision to block The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, CNN, Politico and others from a press briefing. Rep. Carolyn Maloney said Saturday outside The New York Times offices in Manhattan that she wants the Trump administration to commit to a policy of press access for all.

Protecting Trump Tower Has Cost New York City $24 Million From Election to Inauguration

It cost New York City about $24 million to provide security at Trump Tower, President Donald Trump's skyscraper home in Manhattan, from Election Day to Inauguration Day, or $308,000 per day, New York's police commissioner said on Wednesday. The revelation prompted renewed calls for Congress to reimburse the city for the cost of protecting Trump's private residence on Manhattan's Fifth Avenue, where his wife and their son continue to reside.

The United Jewish Appeal Greenwich, a local chapter of the world’s largest local philanthropy organization, tasked with fulfilling a mission to care for people in need, inspire a passion for Jewish life and learning, and strengthen Jewish communities in New York, in Israel, and around the world has appointed the current President of the Greenwich Reform Synagogue Marc Abrams to its 2017 Board of Directors.
