McClintock supporters, protesters call for peaceful event

With people speculating about what could become the largest protest Sonora has seen in years when Congressman Tom McClintock comes to town this week, local conservatives and progressives are reiterating calls to be respectful of each other’s First Amendment rights. Both sides circulated emails over the weekend that detailed the other’s plans for making their voices heard at town hall meetings scheduled for 6 p.m. today at the Mariposa County Fairgrounds in Mariposa and 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Sonora High School auditorium in Sonora.
