Elmsford Man Pleads Guilty In Shooting Of Retired Greenburgh Officer

An Elmsford man accused of shooting a retired Greenburgh police officer in 2015 after he confronted him during a burglary of an empty house, has pleaded guilty to the crime, according to the Westchester County Acting District Attorney James A. McCarty. Taqiy Walton, 35, pleaded guilty to felony assault, attempted assault and criminal possession of a weapon, in the shooting of Peter Schmidt Sr. , said McCarty.
