The crash occurred at the corner of Highland Road and Highland Park Place around 10 p.m. when the car crashed into a telephone pole, bringing down utility lines, resulting in the loss of power to homes in the area.

Concert celebrates church building’s 200th anniversary

Performers associated with the New England Conservatory of Music will give a free concert at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, at the First Church of Christ, 725 Main St. The concert commemorates the 200th anniversary of the church's Bulfinch-designed Fifth Meeting House, a national historic landmark. Aurora Martin, soprano; Joshua Collier, tenor, and Kelly Harrison, mezzo-soprano, will perform, accompanied by pianis Yao Yao, will perform selections dating from the buildings early decades in the 1800s and later.
