An earlier delay on the Waterbury line has been addressed and that line is once again "on or close to schedule,'' according to a tweet from @MetroNorth And those main line delays are caused by a signal problem in the area of Harrison, N.Y. , according to the railroad web site.

Port Chester High School Students Perform In NY Music Festival

Eight students from Port Chester High School, which serves parts of Port Chester and Rye Brook, performed in the annual New York State School Music Association's Area All-State Music Festival Nov. 10 at Purchase College in Harrison. Vocalists Gisella McCallion, soprano; Taylor Masi, alto; and Robert Perrone, tenor; performed with the Area All-State Mixed Choir.

Harrison Mayor Announces Lighting Ceremony, Says Happy Thanksgiving

The West Harrison Neighborhood Association is holding its ninth annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Holiday Celebration Friday, Dec. 2, at 7 p.m. The Holiday Happening will kick off in Ma Riis Park, across from Town Hall, at 3:30 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 4. There will be fun activities. The elementary school choral groups will sing holiday music.

New York Times Spotlights New Gun Store In Harrison

When a new gun shop opened in Harrison this month, the owner, Louis Zacchio, never expected to be confronted with a petition against his store, angry town hall meetings, or even, a story in The New York Times about its opening. The opening of the store, first reported by Daily Voice, drew such an outcry that more than 3,300 residents signed the petition, saying a gun store in a town full of ice cream and pizza shops just didn't mix.
