Hospice of Westchester Hosts Appreciation Ceremony for Local First Responders

Hospice of Westchester recently hosted a recognition ceremony for several community partners who aided the nonprofit organization in an active emergency management drill, evacuating the sisters of the Convent of St. John the Baptist in Purchase in November 2017. The celebration, which took place on January 11 at HOW's offices in White Plains, acknowledged the Harrison Police Department, West Harrison Fire Department, Harrison Emergency Medical Services and Empress Ambulance, all of which assisted HOW in the drill.

Harrison police: Thieves could be part of international crime ring

Three people who allegedly broke into a car in Harrison last week are suspected of being part of an apparent international crime ring. The suspects, Jonathan Marrero, Braulio Ortiz and Valentina Ledezma, came to the attention of the Harrison Police Department after they allegedly broke into the car of a woman parked at the Purchase Community House, located on Purchase Street.

Police Track Down International Thieves, Recover $40K In Westchester

Harrison police recovered about $40,000 cash and stolen goods after tracking this rented SUV to a hotel in Queens where three suspects in a Sunday theft were staying. Forged U.S. passports, driver's licenses and other fake credit cards and gift cards recovered this week during a Harrison investigation of three natives of Chile involved in a wider theft ring.
